Summer 2025 Theme
“And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.” (Ezek 36:26 ESV)
The life of a disciple of Christ is all about change and being transformed into Christlikeness as we follow Jesus in obedience. We are “new creatures in Christ” as Paul describes us in 2 Cor 5:17. We come to Christ as we are, and He graciously accepts us. But the Lord doesn’t leave us as He finds us (thankfully!)—He begins to change us from the inside out.
Our theme verse for this summer at WSS is Ezek 36:26, which beautifully describes this change process starting with our hearts. Our sinful heart is stony—rebellious, selfish, prideful. Our hearts of stone are incapable of loving God and others or walking out our faith in obedience. Rather than leaving us in this state, in His mercy and kindness God takes away that heart of stone when we give our life to Christ in faith, and He replaces it with a heart of flesh—tender, humble, teachable. The Lord gives us a heart that can grow in our love for Him and for others, that can become more Christlike as we grow in our faith!
We invite you to join us this summer at White Sulphur Springs for Summer R&R as we explore the wonderful truth in this passage and what that means for us today. Come and experience true rest and refreshment as you enjoy Christ-centered teaching, delicious meals, comfortable rooms, fun-filled activities for all ages, and amazing fellowship with like-minded Christian brothers and sisters who are also eagerly seeking to give more of their heart to the Lord! We look forward to you experiencing all the Lord has for you this summer at White Sulphur Springs!
