Let’s have a party

She’s looking a bit disproportionate. The legs have gotten longer, but the body hasn’t kept up. We love the watching the changes in her.

What does God’s word say about horses? March 22nd we are celebrating one year of Freya’s life. Lord willing she will give back to WSS for many years with her service. Just like you are, God designed her with a purpose. So what is the purpose of a horse?

  • The Lord Jesus is a horse rider; He created them so He/we could ride. And He returns to earth on His white steed: Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war. His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are many diadems, and he has a name written that no one knows but himself. He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which he is called is The Word of God. And the armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, were following him on white horses… Revelation 19:11-14
  • Horses show forth his glory: Do you give the horse his might? Do you clothe his neck with a mane? Do you make him leap like the locust? His majestic snorting is terrifying. He paws in the valley and exults in his strength… Job 39:19-21
  • They carry His host: Again I lifted my eyes and saw, and behold, four chariots came out from between two mountains. And the mountains were mountains of bronze. The first chariot had red horses, the second black horses, the third white horses, and the fourth chariot dappled horses—all of them strong. Then I answered and said to the angel who talked with me, “What are these, my lord?” And the angel answered and said to me, “These are going out to the four winds of heaven, after presenting themselves before the Lord of all the earth. … Zechariah 6:1-7
  • And a historical context: Solomon also had 40,000 stalls of horses for his chariots, and 12,000 horsemen. 1 Kings 4:26  WOW!!!!

Horses are part of our past, present, and future. In addition, the connection between a human and animal puts on display the fidelity of God’s intention for our stewardship of God’s original garden. Someday we will be able to interact with all the animals God created without fear. In the meantime, I hope God will bring you many opportunities to steward His creation and His creatures. They give us so much. And Freya, she’s something really special. Happy Birthday little girl!
