Pastor Roc Bottomly: “The Promised Power”

About the Topic: Something wonderful is happening in the church around the world. It is a happy reunion among those who love the truth of the Bible with those who love the power of the Spirit. More and more followers of Jesus are finding their way to the seam where Word meets Spirit. You may be among them. The purpose of this conference is to give those who love the Bible the opportunity to learn and experience more of the power of the Spirit. Through biblical instruction and practical experience we want to restore what for many of us is a missing piece of life with God – the power of the Spirit promised in the Book we love.

About the Speaker: Roc is a USAFA ’69 grad who majored in Astronautical Engineering. After graduation, Roc received his M.S. at Purdue, finished UPT, and served as a flight instructor in T-37’s and a transport pilot in C-141’s.

After completing his military commitment, Roc graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary, and spent the next 35 years as the Senior Pastor of four churches and the Senior Fellow for Marriage Studies at the Focus on the Family Institute in Colorado Springs.

From his spiritual roots in Bible-rich communities, Roc developed a deep love for the truth of the Scriptures. From his later encounters with devout believers from “the other side of the tracks,” he grew to love the power of the Spirit. For the past 30 years, as a pastor and teacher he has worked to build “Word-Spirit” churches that vigorously pursue the enormous benefits of both of these promised provisions.

In 2005, Roc wrote The Promised Power published by NavPress; and in 2019, he published an updated version titled More!

In 2016, Roc “retired,” and he continues to work with Focus on the Family providing marriage training to Arabic speaking pastors in the Middle East and coaching to pastors, ministry leaders and young businessmen in Oklahoma City.

Roc and Bev have been married since 1974. They have four grown children and thirteen grandchildren.
